Step 7: Add the Summary Singleton in the Report Body
This step will create a data container for the location-specific totals. A singleton object will return
a single row of data. Since the entire report is focused on one location, the singleton will display
the location totals if we only add the numbers.
1.
In the work area, click below the
List
object to select the
Page Body
object.
2.
In the
Properties
pane, change the
Horizontal Alignment
property to
Center
.
3.
From the
To o l b o x
tab of the
Insertable Objects
pane, drag a
Singleton
object below
the
List
object in the work area.
NOTE
Be careful not to drop the Singleton inside the List.
4.
In the work area, click the
Singleton
in the page body to select it.
5.
In the
Properties
pane, change the
Query
property to
Returned/Shipped_Ratio_
by_Location
.
6.
From the
To o l b o x
tab of the
Insertable Objects
pane, drag a
Ta b l e
object into the new
Singleton
object.
The Insert Table dialog box is displayed.
7.
Change the
Number of columns
to
1
.
8.
Change the
Number of rows
to
3
.
9.
In the
Ta b l e s t y l e
section, deselect the
Maximize width
check box.
10.
Click
OK
to close the dialog box.
11.
From the
Data Items
tab of the
Insertable Objects
pane, drag
Return quantity
into
the top row of the table.
12.
Drag
Quantity
into the middle row.
13.
Drag
Return/Ship Ratio
in the bottom row.
14.
Select the
Return/Ship Ratio
data item in the table.
15.
From the toolbar, click
Data Format
.
The Data Format dialog box is displayed.
16.
Select the
Percent
format type.
17.
In the
Properties
pane, change the
No. of Decimal Places
to
3
.
18.
From the
To o l b o x
tab of the
Insertable Objects
pane, drag a
Te x t I t e m
to the left of the
Return quantity
data item in the table.
The Text dialog box is displayed.

Type

and add a space after the colon.
