The chi-square test involves a second variable to compare the frequency of the orders as
well as tracking the count of the order transactions.

From the Source tab in the Insertable Objects pane, expand the Order method dimen-
sion and the Order method hierarchy within the Sales namespace.

Drag the Order method type level into the Analysis variable 2 in the work area.
For the last variable, we want to count the number of orders (with a gross profit) as our
measure.

From the To o l b o x tab of the Insertable Objects pane, drag a Query Calculation into
the Counts variable in the work area.
The Create Calculation dialog box is displayed.

Type Order count in the Name text box.

Select the Calculated measure radio button.

Click the drop-down list for Measure Dimension and select Sales fact below the Sales
namespace.

Click OK to close the dialog box.
The Calculated Measure Expression dialog box is displayed.

From the Run menu, select Run Report - HTML to compare the dashboard to that
shown in Figure 6.51. When prompted, select members 2004 , Camping Equipment ,
and Asia Pacific , along with the Two-Way Chi-Square Test.
The first piece, the crosstabulation, shows the relative percentage of the order method sales
for each campaign. The Canyon Mule campaign seemed to have an exceptional number of
web and fax orders. The chi-square test results are looking for a pattern of exceptional
order methods for a promotion. The chi-square test shows that the numbers in the crosstab-
ulation are not significantly different. If the company wants to continue the Canyon Mule
campaign, marketers may want to focus on these order methods to increase orders.
