Step 5: Set Up the Returned/Shipped Ratio Query
This query will retrieve the quantity sold and quantity returned for each country in order to calcu-
late the ratio of items returned to items sold. This will be displayed in the new type of bar chart in
the dashboard.
After we added the three data containers to the dashboard, three new queries were created
for each of them. In this step and the following two steps, we will customize the queries associ-
ated with each object.
1.
In the
Explorer Bar
, mouse over the
Query Explorer
tab and select the
Queries
folder.

Rename
Query1
to
Returned/Shipped_Ratio_by_Country
.
3.
Double-click on the query to open the query definition.
4.
From the
Source
tab of the
Insertable Objects
pane, expand the
Employee by region
dimension and the
Employee by region
hierarchy within the
Sales
namespace.
5.
Drag the
Branch region
level into the
Data Items
pane in the work area.
6.
Drag the
Country
level into the
Data Items
pane.
7.
Expand the
Time
dimension and the
Time
hierarchy.
8.
Drag the
Ye a r
level into the
Data Items
pane.
9.

measure dimension and drag

to the
Data Items
pane.

Expand the
Returned items
namespace and the
