<SPAN>
tags are used to provide interactive actions to the section of the web page
enclosed within the tag. Most common usages of the tag are to provide mouse-over
actions (tooltips) or some kind of actions if users click on the section of the web page.
In addition, the functionality of clicking through desired tabs will be accomplished by the
inclusion of a small bit of JavaScript code within the
<SPAN>
tag.
The five steps in this example focus on formatting report elements in a tabbed format and then
adding the presentation of the data in each of the tabs.
Step 1: Start the Report
1.
Launch
Report Studio
and select the
GO Data Warehouse (query)
package.
2.
Click on the
Create new
option.

Create a new report or template
.
3.
Select the
Blank
report template and click
OK
.
We will be using the
Inventory (query)
namespace inside the
Sales and Marketing (query)
.
Step 2: Set Up the Initial Block Objects
We will create several blocks in the report to define various zones where we can apply custom
content.
1.
From the
To o l b o x
tab of the
Insertable Objects
pane, drag and drop a
Block
object to
the report design area.
2.
Click on the inserted
Block
object to select it.
3.
Change the
Horizontal alignment
property to
Left
.
4.
Double-click the
Size & Overflow
property.
The Size & Overflow dialog box is displayed.
5.
Change the
Width
to
820
pixels. Verify that the
Content is not clipped
radio button is
selected.
