Our filter is now parameterized and we are ready to create prompt controls to link with
the parameters.

From the Page Explorer tab, select Prompt Pages folder.

From the Insertable Objects pane, drag and drop a Page object into the Prompt
Pages area.

Double-click Prompt Page1 to activate the prompt page design.

Change the prompt page title to Prompt Page .

From the Insertable Objects pane, drag and drop a Ta b l e object into the page body of
the prompt page, and in the Insert Table dialog box, uncheck the Maximize width
property and click OK .
A new table with one row and two columns is created. By unchecking Maximize width,
you are making the width of each column only long enough for the items placed inside
the cells.

From the Insertable Objects pane, drag a Te x t I t e m object into each of the two cells in
the newly created table object. The text in each of the text boxes will be Select Year:
and Select Month: , respectively.

From the Insertable Objects pane, drag a Va l u e P ro m p t object into the first cell of the
table to the right of the Select Year: text item.

In the Prompt Wizard-Choose Parameter dialog box, select the radio button for Use
existing parameter , and in the drop-down menu, select the Ye a r parameter. Click the
Next button.

In the Prompt Wizard-Populate Control dialog box, change Query1 to Ye a r P r o m p t
and click the Finish button.

Click the new Va l u e P ro m p t object to select it and change the Select UI property to
ListBox .

From the Insertable Objects pane, drag another Va l u e P ro m p t object into the second
cell of the table to the right of the Select Month: text item.

In the Prompt Wizard-Choose Parameter dialog box, select the radio button for Use
existing parameter , and in the drop-down menu, select MonthNum parameter. Click
the Next button.
16.
In the Prompt Wizard-Populate Control dialog box, change Query1 to MonthPrompt .
17.
Click the ellipsis button next to the Va l u e s t o d i s p l a y property and navigate to the
Inventory (query) namespace inside the Sales and Marketing (query) folder. Select
the Month query item from the Time query subject. Click OK and then click Finish .
