Shipping Volumes Actual vs.
Expected
combination chart to select the whole chart.
2.
In the
Properties
pane, double-click the
Drill-Through Definitions
property to open
the dialog box.
3.
To create a new definition, click the

button in the lower-
left corner of the dialog box.

is created and the options for
the drill are displayed on the right side of the dialog box.
4.
Click the ellipsis for the report to display the Open dialog box.
5.
Select
Expected to Actual Shipping Volumes
. This was created in the fourth section of
this chapter.
6.

Open
to close the dialog box and to add the report to the definition.
7.
Click the
Edit
button below the
Parameters
pane to open the dialog box.
It should show Selected Branch, Selected Month and Selected Year as the parameters
requested by the report. The first two parameter types are string and Selected Year is
expecting a number. Since the dashboard is a dimensional source and the target report is
based on a relational source, we will explicitly define the member properties to pass to
the target.
The combination chart on the dashboard does not run the query on the branch so we will
not be passing the branch as a parameter.
8.
In the line for the
Selected Branch
parameter, click the drop-down list for
Method
and
select
Do not use parameter
.
9.
In the line for the
Selected Month
parameter, click the drop-down list for
Method
and
select
Pass data item value
.
10.
Click the drop-down list for
Va l u e
and select
Month
.
11.
In the line for the
Selected Ye a r
parameter, change the
Method
to
Pass data item value
.
12.
Change the
Va l u e
to
Ye a r
.
13.
Click
OK
to close the Parameters dialog box.
14.
In the
Drill-Through Definitions
dialog box, rename the definition to
Drill to Ship-
ping Volumes
.
15.
Click
OK
to close the dialog box.
16.
From the
Run
menu, select
Run Report - HTML
to view the dashboard. The dash-
board will look like what's shown in Figure 2.39. Notice the difference between the
actual and expected volumes for January. It seems to be significantly greater than the
differences in other months.
