Paddle into Prehistory
Crowning Phuket Island is stunning Ao Phang-Nga Marine National Park ( Click
here ), a turquoise bay filled with gigantic karst formations. Once a part of a regional
mountain chain, these submerged peaks are a vertical testament to the earth's
ever-changing topography. Despite their rocky permanence, the sea and rain chips
away the easily dissolved material until it is pock-marked and full of Swiss-
cheese-like caves.
