) honours the goddess of the waters with floating offerings
usually made of banana leaves folded into a circular shape and decorated with
flowers and candles. Merit-makers gather at local waterways to set sail their illumin-
ated boats on the full moon of the 12th lunar month (usually November). Sukhothai,
Ayuthaya, Bangkok and Chiang Mai festivities have the most appeal for visitors.
