Field'. The park is the site for the annual Ploughing Ceremony, in which the crown
prince officially initiates the rice-growing season; a large kite competition is also
held here during the kite-flying season (mid-February to April). The southern end of
the park affords a photographic view of Wat Phra Kaew. Taxis and buses circle this
shadeless expanse, offering a quick getaway for tuckered-out tourists.
