Kavi Gupta Gallery Owner Kavi Gupta is widely credited with
kicking off the West Loop art scene when he developed this property
as a home for new galleries. Gupta specializes in contemporary art by
national and international emerging artists, so you never quite know

Rhona Hoffman Gallery The New York-born Rhona Hoffman
maintains a high profile on the international contemporary-art
scene. She launched her gallery in 1983 and, from the start, sought
national and international artists, typically young and cutting-edge
artists who weren't represented elsewhere in Chicago. Today she is
the purveyor of such blue-chip players as Sol LeWitt and Jenny
Holzer; she has also added young up-and-comers such as Dawoud

Richard Gray Gallery Richard Gray—whose gallery opened
in 1963—is widely considered the dean of art dealers in Chicago.
The gallery specializes in paintings, sculpture, and drawings by lead-
ing artists from the major movements in 20th-century American and
European art (he also has a second location in New York). John Han-

Zolla/Lieberman Gallery Bob Zolla and Roberta Lieber-
man kicked off the River North revival when they opened their
gallery (considered the grande dame of the area) here in 1976. Today,
Zolla/Lieberman, directed by Roberta's son William Lieberman, rep-
resents a wide range of artists, including sculptor Deborah Butter-
field, installation artist Vernon Fisher, and painter Terence LaNoue.
