HDFS or HBase, applications such as Cloudera's Impala or the AMPLab Shark proj-
ect might be a better fit. The concepts from Google's research paper on their Dremel
technology have inspired a great deal of innovation in the world of analytical database
technology, and the number of distributed ad hoc analytics technologies is growing.
