Apraksin Dvor This 200-year-old shopping mall has lost its aristocratic elegance and
become a jumble of cheap clothing stalls, seedy gaming halls, electronics markets, and
lowbrow bars and cafes. It's slated for a cleanup, but in the meantime it has plenty of
low-priced clothes, shoes, toys, and CDs. Watch your pocket. 30 Sadovaya Ulitsa. Metro:

DLT This shopping center is full of shops selling imported and Russian goods with an

Pryalka (Spinning Wheel) This store, styled like a cottage hut for the new rich, offers
original clothes and gifts, largely handmade from natural products, including goat down
sweaters and blouses of Russian linen as well as standard and unconventionally designed
accessories. Prices are higher than you'll find in department stores but the selection and

Tatyana Parfionova Arguably St. Petersburg's most famous fashion designer, Par-
fionova creates unforgettable, original clothes and accessories. Her shows are the hottest
ticket in town and her pieces are displayed in the Russian Museum. For something you
definitely won't find at home, stop at her boutique. Excellent service. 51 Nevsky Prospekt.

Kalinka Stockmann This Finnish-Russian supermarket chain sells a range of reliable
international products, at prices higher than you'll find in the bazaars but lower than in

Lenta This local hypermarket offers a staggering selection of goods at reasonable prices
and is increasingly popular among Petersburg's middle class. Its stores are in the not-so-
convenient edges of town, but you'll find just about anything you could imagine here,
including vodka and even reliable caviar at the best prices in town. Both of the following
