In-Depth Information
you need a greenhouse or cold frame to give your plants that extra
warmth they need? If a vegetable plant consistently does not do well
in your garden, try growing it in another way or acknowledge your
site is just not what that plant needs. It does not mean anything
about you as a gardener!
Did You Have Pest Problems?
It never fails. You finally feel you have vanquished the pests in your
garden and something new shows up! No garden is pest-free-nor do
you necessarily want it to be. There are beneficial and harmful pests
and they both need to coexist for a healthy vegetable garden.
What is important is to document your problem pests, what you
did to prevent or get rid of them, and your results. This is valuable
information to have for the seasons to come, although not every
season will have the same problems. If something worked one sea-
son it will probably work again. If, however, something did not work,
you do not want to waste your time doing the same thing again next
season!
Smoothie Garden Solution
Gardening can be a very pleasurable experience. Having a veget-
able or flower garden in your backyard, patio, or balcony can add
beauty to your home. Plants can attract wildlife, birds, butterflies,
and other insects that are beautiful to watch and enjoy. Take the
time to really experience your garden.
Tilling your garden beds is one way to expose any insects and lar-
vae to the elements, which will make it harder for them to survive.
Planting a cover crop or using mulch will keep your soil healthy.
