Campbell's Resort on Lake Chelan The Campbell Hotel first opened
in 1901 and has remained Chelan's most popular lodging ever since. Located on
the banks of the lake right in downtown Chelan, Campbell's is now a small con-
vention hotel with a 1,200-foot beach, acres of lawns, and boat docks. Over the
past few years, Campbell's has updated most of its rooms, and though the main
building's deluxe rooms (which feature furnishings and styling the equal of any
Seattle luxury hotel) are still the best rooms, many of the other rooms are look-
ing good these days, too. Fortunately, every room here has a lake view, and
many, including several of the cottages, have a kitchen or kitchenette. The din-
ing room is located in the original 1901 hotel, and offers the most elegant dining
in town. There's a pub upstairs from the restaurant and, in summer, a beach bar.
