To create a living architecture there must first be holistic intent. The
intent of the designer or architect, the owner, the builder, the sub-
contractors, the workers, and even the material suppliers engenders the
architecture with meaning. The making of “conscious architecture” mag-
nifies the intelligent intent of the makers.
Living architecture is about the joining of pieces, the making of magic
through the marriage of the many into the one. This holistic approach to
design unifies the distinct and individual energies and allows them to evolve
into a synergistic whole.
Through the wisdom of its “owner,” the openness of her architect, and
the many sacred contributions of the many builders, craftspersons, and sup-
pliers, the Wimberley House of Healing has evolved into a wonderful
example of awake and conscious architecture.
It is more than a house. It is more than a building or structure or shel-
ter.While the quiet retreat accepts its outward appearance as a work of art,
an artistic interplay of light and motion and meaning, the Wimberley
House of Healing is much more indeed.The home has risen to become “a
