Sleeping in Porto
There are lots of cheap sleeps in Porto—but none in the desirable Ribeira district (where
prices are higher). I've listed two options right in the Ribeira, two just above (near the
Stock Exchange Palace), and several better value places in the city center. The cheaper
the place, the greater the chance that English isn't spoken (and the grottier the bathroom).
You'll almost always have to climb a few stairs to get to the elevator, if they have one.
In the Ribeira
Neither of these two places is a particularly good value. But...location, location, location.
$$$ Pestana Porto Hotel is a stylish splurge, with Porto's best location, right on the
