This pleasant little town is famous for its church, one of the most interesting in Portugal.
I find Alcobaça (ahl-koh-BAH-sah) a better stop than Batalha.

Arrival in Alcobaça:
If you arrive by bus, it's a five-minute walk to the town center
and monastery. Exit right from the station (on Avenida Manuel da Silva Carolino), walk
