4.1 BLOCKS WITH RECYCLE
When blocks are connected for a process with recycle such as Figure 4.2, traditional
chemical engineering practice identifies stream 6 as a recycle stream. The technique
for solution involves a guess of the component flows, temperature, and pressure of the
stream and uses the method of direct iteration. The values of the variables in stream
6 are estimated and the blocks are executed in the sequence React, Flash, and Split,
