Reference should be made to Fig. 3.15. At the gable end both sets of purlins can simply be
built-in in the usual manner, with the floor joists supported by being built-in at the gable
and either on a load bearing room dividing wall internally or a beam as illustrated.
At the hip end the construction is more complicated, but again floor joists can be suppor-
ted on the wall plate of the external wall and on either a beam or internal load bearing par-
tition. The lower purlin at the end of the hip can be either supported at its
