Clearly, as has been seen above, there are many aspects of trussed rafter production re-
quiring a check to ensure their conformity with the British Standard. It must be said that
the majority of trussed rafter producers are well aware of the standards required of them
and produce trusses of high quality. To provide the specifier and the purchaser with an as-
sured standard of quality, manufacturers must produce to the standards not only of BS
5268 but also those set down in ISO 9002,
Quality systems.
This ensures not only a con-
forming product but also minimum standards of service and administration that accom-
pany the product. TRADA Certification Ltd operates such a scheme for trussed rafter
manufacturers. Registered producers are allowed to use the BM TRADA certification logo
on their product and documentation. The 'Q' mark indicates a quality assured product in
