Tilapia fingerlings can be started on pet store flake food or regular catfish chow. Even koi
food from the pet store is high in protein (around 32%) and the fingerlings love it. Begin
feeding your fish as soon as they are swimming in their new home. A light feeding several
times the first day will get them started.
It's the fish waste that 'fertilizes' your plants so make sure they get enough food but
without overfeeding them and making them sick or fouling their water.
