8. Varietal wines

Article 63(7) of Regulation 607/2009 provides that for wines produced in
accordance with Art 60(2) of the Wine Regulation, Member States may decide
to use the terms 'varietal wine' supplemented by the name(s) of:
(a) the Member State(s) concerned;
(b) the wine grape variety(-ies).
Article 63(7) of Regulation 607/2009 provides that for wines without PDO,
PGI or GI produced in third countries which bear on labels the name of one or
more wine grape varieties or the vintage year, third countries may decide to use
the terms 'varietal wine' supplemented by the name(s) of the third country(ies)
concerned.

O. LANGUAGES
Article 61(1) of the Wine Regulation provides that the compulsory and
optional particulars referred to in Arts 59 and 60 shall, where expressed in
words, appear in one or more of the official languages of the Community.

Article 61(1) provides that notwithstanding Art 61(1) the name of a PDO or
GI or a traditional term as referred to in Art 54(1)(a) shall appear on the label in
the language or languages for which the protection applies.

In the case of protected designations of origin or GIs or national specific
designations using a non-Latin alphabet, the name may also appear in one or
more official languages of the Community.

P. MARKETING AND EXPORT
Article 55(1) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 607/2009 of 14 July 2009
provides that products whose label or presentation does not conform to the
corresponding conditions as laid down in this Regulation cannot be marketed
in the Community or exported.

Article 55(2) provides that by way of derogation from Chapters V and VI of the
Wine Regulation, where the products concerned are to be exported, Member
States may allow that particulars that conflict with labelling rules as provided
for by Community legislation appear on the label of wines for export, when they
