Article 65(2) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 607/2009 provides that
where the Community symbols or the indications referred to in Art 60(1)(e) of
the Wine Regulation appear on the label of a product, they shall be accom-
panied by the corresponding PDO or GI.
16. Temporary labelling
4.328
Article 72(1) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 607/2009 provides that by
way of derogation from Art 65 of this Regulation, wines bearing a designation
of origin or a GI, whose designation of origin or GI concerned meet the
requirements as referred to in Art 38(5) of the Wine Regulation, shall be
labelled in accordance with the provisions laid down in Chapter IV of this
Regulation.

Article 72(2) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 607/2009 provides that
where the Commission decides not to confer protection to a designation of
origin or GI pursuant to Art 41 of the Wine Regulation, wines labelled in
accordance with Art 72(1) of this Article shall be withdrawn from the market or
relabelled in accordance with Chapter IV of this Regulation.
N. CERTIFICATION PROCEDURES
4.330
Article 60(2) of the Wine Regulation provides that without prejudice to Art
42(3), as regards the use of particulars referred to in Art 60(1)(a) and (b) for
wines without a PDO or GI:
(a) Member States shall introduce laws, regulations or administrative provisions to
ensure certification, approval and control procedures so as to guarantee the veracity
of the information concerned.
1. Designation of competent authority
4.331
Article 63(1) of Regulation 607/2009 provides that Member States shall
designate the competent authority or authorities responsible for ensuring
certification as provided for in Art 60(2)(a) of the Wine Regulation, in
accordance with the criteria laid down in Art 4 of Regulation (EC) No
882/2004.
