14. Register of traditional specialities guaranteed

Article 22(1) provides that the Commission shall adopt implementing acts,
without applying the procedure referred to in Art 57(2), establishing and
maintaining a publicly accessible updated register of TSGs recognised under
this scheme.
Article 22(2) provides that the Commission may adopt implementing acts
laying down detailed rules on the form and content of the register. Those
implementing acts shall be adopted in accordance with the examination pro-
cedure referred to in Art 57(2).

15. Names, symbol and indication
(a) Use
Article 23(1) provides that a name registered as a TSG may be used by any
operator marketing a product that conforms to the corresponding specification.

(b) Union symbol
Article 23(2) provides that a Union symbol shall be established in order to
publicise the TSGs. Article 2 of the Draft Delegated Regulation provides that
the Union symbols referred to in Art 23(2) 'are established as laid down in the
Annex to this Regulation'.

In the case of products originating in the Union that are marketed under a TSG
that is registered in accordance with this Regulation, Art 23(3) provides that the
symbol referred to in Art 23(2) shall, without prejudice to Art 23(4), appear on
the labelling. In addition, the name of the product should appear in the same
field of vision. The indication 'traditional speciality guaranteed' or the corres-
ponding abbreviation 'TSG' may also appear on the labelling.

The symbol shall be optional on the labelling of TSGs which are produced
outside the Union.

Article 59 provides that Art 23(3) shall apply from 4 January 2016, without
prejudice to products already placed on the market before that date.

(c) Protection of indications and symbols
Article 44(1) provides that indications, abbreviations and symbols referring to
the quality schemes may only be used in connection with products produced in
conformity with the rules of the quality scheme to which they apply. This
applies in particular to the following indications, abbreviations and symbols:
