4.4.2 Generalizations
Generalized versions of the raised cosine have been reported by a number of
researchers, and the topic is still of some research interest. These modified
versions have some advantages, such as reduced timing estimation error, and
reduced error probability for fixed timing errors in the receiver. The reader
should consult references such as Beaulieu, Tan, and Damen [2001], Assalini
and Tonello [2004], Tan and Beaulieu [2004], and Lee and Beaulieu [2008].
