Analysis shows that the frequency of TI of the VVER-1000 reactor may
increase to 10 years while maintaining a high level of reliability and safety
in which the destruction of MCL or PRZ is almost impossible and leakage
is unlikely. Practical realisation of this transition requires the unit-by-unit
analysis of reliability and safety of all items of equipment and pipelines,
including the reactor pressure vessel, the collector and piping of steam
generators, and the main circulation pump housing.
