with the failure of the safety injection (AS3) and not of the spray system
(AS2). This is explained by the fact that both systems (safety injection
and spray) are common elements in a control system and this is taken into
account by the logic of simulation ET/FT (failure tree).
The results of the calculations are presented in Tables 6.1-6.3
Thus, the probability of core melt is significantly affected by probability
of the initiating event - pipeline rupture. In particular, this relationship is
clearly visible in the data in Table 6.2

6.2.1 The set of the input data
The set of the input data, including the list of components and systems
sensitive to the ageing effects and point values of the reliability parameters,
calculated for the age of the unit of 10, 20, 30 and 40 years, was prepared
in accordance with the procedure described in Ref. 151. The input data
refer to mechanical and electrical equipment of the high pressure safety
injection system and the spray system, and the components of the control
and protection system (Table 6.4).
For the majority of the components, the relative increase of the reliability
parameters with time is not very large (Fig. 6.3). The relative increase of the
