In-Depth Information
De/re-contextualization may happen as individual experiences, expectations,
or aspirations become collective (e.g. as similar or analogous experiences
are constructed out of these), or are further transformed into social norms
and motives.
9.5 How Are Requirements Created?
Requirements for change are created by an individual, a team, a community or
an organization, by transforming, transferring, decontextualizing and/or
re-contextualizing the following (Fig. 9.4 ) :
• Experiences, expectations or aspirations of an individual: The individual can be
the designer herself, or someone else. The expectations or aspirations can pertain
to any part of the lifecycle of the proposal.
• Collection of experiences, expectations or aspirations of other individuals: This
is a set of experiences, expectations or aspirations collected from multiple
individuals, which are yet to coalesce into a 'collective' experience as in the
next bullet point, where 'collective' refers to experiences, expectations or
aspirations and their context
that are held as similar by a collection of
individuals.
