Spring is in full swing by April, although mornings and evenings can still be chilly. The cherry blossoms usually
peak in early April, which means thick crowds in the sightseeing districts.
Cherry Blossom Viewing
Hanami (cherry blossom viewing parties) take place all over town when the cherries blos-

Kitano Odori
Held from 15 to 25 April at Kamishichiken Kaburen-jō Theatre, east of Kitano-Tenman-gū
at Imadegawa-dōri-Nishihonmatsu nishi iru, this charming geisha dance is put on by the
Kamishichiken geisha district.
