Presented by the Gion Kōbu geisha district, this is our favourite geisha dance in
Kyoto. It's a real stunner and the colourful images will remain with you long after the cur-
tain falls. It's held throughout April at the Gion Kōbu Kaburen-jō Theatre, on Hanami-
kōji, just south of Shijō-dōri.

Put on by the Miyagawa-chō geisha district, this is a wonderful geisha dance, on a slightly
more intimate scale than the Miyako Odori. It's held from the first to the third Sunday in
April at the
Miyagawa-chō Kaburen-jō Theatre
(
宮川町歌舞練場
), east of the Kamo-
gawa between Shijō-dōri and Gojō-dōri.

This is a quaint and charming geisha dance put on by the geisha of the Gion Hi-
gashi geisha district. It's held from 1 to 10 November at the
Gion Kaikan Theatre

祇園
会館
), near Yasaka-jinja.
