CLUB ŌKITSU KYOTO

10min walk from Marutamachi Station, Karasuma subway line) offers an upmarket introduction to various
aspects of Japanese culture including tea ceremony and the incense ceremony. They also
offer kimono dressing upon request (note that kimono dressing is not offered alone: it must
be part of a package including tea ceremony and/or incense ceremony). The introduction is
performed in an exquisite Japanese villa near the Kyoto Gosho and participants get a real
sense of the elegance and refinement of traditional Japanese culture.

venue. It's a lovely hall with excellent acoustics and it never fails to draw an appreciative

tion, Hankyū Kyoto line) This is one of Kyoto's most atmospheric clubs, located in an old sak-
agura (sake brewery). It often hosts major acts (the Neville Brothers, Los Lobos and Dr
John have all performed here).

Try this theatre for lesser-known foreign art house and eclectic Japanese films, including
Japanese anime (animation). It's on Kujō-dōri.
