In-Depth Information
Introduction
This chapter focuses on understanding and creating the System Center Configuration
Manager ( SCCM ) reports. The reporting role for SCCM is optional, but it is recommen-
ded as it provides the easiest access to the state of the infrastructure, client information, and
status of deployments. The recipes in this chapter use System Center 2012 R2 Configura-
tion Manager.
For all the recipes in this chapter, the requirements are as follows:
• Deployed System Center 2012 Configuration Manager environment
◦ Agents deployed and healthy
◦ Hardware inventory successfully performed on deployed agents
• Reporting services point role should be successfully enabled
Tip
The majority of this chapter should apply to SCCM 2012 SP1, but note that 2012 R2 intro-
duced changes, such as role-based security, on reports that the final recipe is based on. This
recipe will only be applied to SCCM 2012 R2.
