10 You're guaranteed to find decent South Island snow right through the winter season
(June to October). The most famous slopes are around hip Queenstown ( Click here ) and
laid-back Wanaka ( Click here ) , with iconic ski runs such as Coronet Peak, the Remarkables
and Treble Cone close at hand. There are also dedicated snowboarding and cross-country
(Nordic) snow parks here. Further north the smaller club-operated ski fields of Canterbury
offer a more local experience. And when it comes to après-ski time, a cosy bar or restaurant
is never far away.
