Summary
Migrating networks from one architecture to another is often a difficult task. Because of the
size and complexity of many BGP networks, migration is typically a process where both
old and new architectures exist side by side during migration. The goal of any migration
procedure should be to minimize network downtime and traffic loss.
This chapter presented four migration strategies that are commonly confronted in real
networks. Detailed procedures were provided for each of the four case studies to illustrate
a step-by-step process.
