Sleeping & Eating
There are plenty of cheap and tasty thali and tiffin places in town. None of the following
serve alcohol, but you can stock up from a 'wine shop' in Hut Bay.
Blue View
( 9734480840; Km11.5; r without bathroom ?350-500) Prime real estate across the road from Netaji
Nagar Beach, Blue View's simple thatched bungalows are run by the lovely Azad and his
wife. It has surfboards (per hour/day ?100/500) and rents out bicycles/motorbikes (per day

Getting There & Around
Ferries land at Hut Bay Jetty on the east coast; from there the beaches lay to the north.
Buses (?10) to Netaji Nagar usually coincide with ferry arrivals, or otherwise pass by
every hour or so. Shared jeeps (?50) are the other option. Failing that, an autorickshaw
from the jetty to Netaji Nagar is ?250, or ?50 to town. Motorbikes and bicycles are avail-
able from most lodges.
Boats sail to Port Blair daily, alternating between afternoon and evening departures on
vessels ranging from big ferries with four-/two-bed rooms (?220/260, 8½ hours) to faster
5½-hour government boats (?30); all have air-con. The ferry office is closed Sundays.
There's an ATM in Hut Bay, but no internet.
