tral home of the Kadathanadu royal family is as serene as it gets, a traditional Keralan
family compound with pristine lawns. The seven rooms are large and beautifully fur-
nished with dark-wood antiques. There's an ayurvedic and yoga centre, with packages
available. The pure veg food is delicious and cooking classes are available.

packed restaurant, founded in 1939. The overwhelming menu is famous for fish dishes
such as fish in tamarind sauce, and its legendary chicken biryani.

At the back of the Beach Hotel is a cool open-sided bam-
boo 'hut' restaurant-bar serving a big range of fish and chicken dishes and Malabari
