churches, including the massive Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral , towering, whitewashed Puttan-
palli (New) Church and the Chaldian (Nestorian) Church .

Vadakkunathan Kshetram Temple

One of the oldest in the state, Vadakkunathan Kshetram Temple crowns the hill at the epi-
centre of Thrissur. Finished in classic Keralan architecture, only Hindus are allowed in-
side, though the mound surrounding the temple has sweeping views and is a popular spot
to linger.
