This old-timer is one of the rare budget
stalwarts still left in Fort Cochin. There are loads of staid rooms on offer in the off-white
four-storey building, each with little more than a bed, four walls and a pint-sized bath-
room. The best open onto a balcony.

Reds is a relatively new homestay with hotel-quality rooms but a
true family welcome from knowledgable hosts Philip and Maryann. The five double
rooms are modern and immaculate, and there's a self-contained 'penthouse' cottage with
kitchen on the rooftop. It's in a peaceful location near the Maritime Museum.

There's a sweeping spiral staircase from the reception room and four immaculate, upmar-
