BUS
Buses stop briefly at the old bus stand before moving to the new bus stand 2km away.
There are numerous semideluxe services to Bengaluru (semideluxe/AC Volvo/sleeper
?352/401/600, 10 hours), Bijapur (?180, six hours) and Hospet (?164, 4½ hours). There
are regular connections to Mangalore (?300, 10 hours, several daily), Borivali in Mumbai
(semideluxe/sleeper ?515/780, 14 hours, four daily), Mysore (?320, 10 hours, three daily),
Gokarna (?175, five hours, two daily) and Panaji (?161, six hours, six daily).
Private deluxe buses to Bengaluru run from opposite the old bus stand.
TRAIN
From the train station, expresses head to Hospet (2nd class ?120, 3½ hours, six daily),
Bengaluru (sleeper/2AC ?203/910, 11 hours, four daily) and Mumbai (sleeper/2AC ?285/
1215, 14 hours). The 11pm Hubli-Vasco Link Express goes to Goa (sleeper ?153, six
hours).
