Green Hotel was originally built as the Chittaranjan Palace in the 1920s by the maharajah
for his three daughters, before becoming a major film studio from the 1950s to 1987.
Today its 31-rooms, set among charming gardens, are all run on solar power and those in
the Palace building include themes such as a Writers room or kitschy Bollywood decor.
Best of all, the profits are distributed to charity and environmental projects across India.
It's 3km west of town.

its massive rooms which are immaculate, ultracomfortable and thoughtfully outfitted with
mobile-phone chargers and very useful toiletry kits. The restaurant on the 1st is always
busy and has a lively atmosphere.
