The last remnants of this 1761 fort is a peaceful escape from the chaotic surrounds,
with its manicured lawn and stone pink walls. There's a small dungeon here, and Ganesh
temple with its Mooshak (ratlike creature) statue.
Bull Temple & Dodda Ganesha Temple
(Bull Temple Rd, Basavangudi; 7am-8.30pm) Built by Kempegowda in the 16th-century Dravidi-
an style, the Bull Temple contains a huge granite monolith of Nandi and is one of
Bengaluru's most atmospheric temples. Nearby is the Swee Dodda Ganapathi Temple, (Bull Temple
Rd, Basavangudi; 7am-8.30pm) with an equally enormous Ganesh idol. The temples are about
a kilometre south of Tipu Sultan's Palace, down Krishnarajendra Rd.

Iskcon Temple
( www.iskconbangalore.org ; Chord Rd, Hare Krishna Hill; 7am-1pm & 4-8.30pm) Built by the Internation-
al Society of Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon), also referred to as the Hare Krishnas, this
shiny temple, inaugurated in 1997, is lavishly decorated in a mix of ultra-contemporary
and traditional styles.
