Getting There & Around
BUS
Government and private long-distance buses both depart from Kadamba bus stand, about
2km north of the Municipal Gardens. Shuttle buses (?30, 35 minutes) run to Panaji every
few minutes. For North Goa destinations it's best to head to Panaji and change there.
Local buses to Benaulim (?10, 20 minutes), Colva (?10, 20 minutes) and Palolem (?30,
one hour) stop at the bus stop on the east side of the Municipal Gardens every 15 minutes
or so.
Private buses ply interstate routes several times daily, most departing between 5.30pm
and 7.30pm, and can be booked at offices around town; try
Paulo Travel Masters.

TAXI
Taxis are plentiful around the Municipal Gardens, train station and Kadamba bus stand,
and they'll go anywhere in Goa, including Palolem (?800), Panaji (?800), Dabolim airport
(?600), Calangute (?1100), Anjuna (?1200) and Arambol (?1700). Except for the train sta-
tion, where there's a prepaid booth, you'll have to negotiate the fare with the driver.

Margao's well-organised train station, about 2km south of town, serves the Konkan Rail-
