raeli backpackers, Shimon is the place to fill up on an exceptional falafel (?110) or other
specialities like sabikh , aubergine slices stuffed into pita bread with boiled egg, potato,
salad and spicy relishes in pita. Follow either up with Turkish coffee or a fruit shake.

(Welcome Inn; pastries ?20-70) This rather dim and dingy corner cafe is surprisingly popular,
with decent pastries (eg lemon cheese pie, ?60) and espresso coffee.

(mains ?140-300; 11am-11pm) Pizza is the big deal here - the menu has more than 40 differ-
ent kinds - and they are good. The pastas, calzones and paninis, especially with seafood,
are also tasty. The tiramisu will keep you up at night, thinking back on it fondly.

Loeki Café
(Glastonbury St; mains ?50-200; 8.30am-late) As much a chill-out and live music joint as a place
to eat, Loeki is a very relaxed place with cushions on the floor, regular live music and jam
sessions on Thursday and Saturday. Typically extenisve world menu, including Goan
dishes.

Double Dutch
(mains ?100-290) Longtime popular place for steaks, salads, Thai and Indonesian dishes, and
famous for its apple pies, all in a pretty garden setting.

Information
Internet outfits, travel agents and money changers are as common as monsoon frogs on
the road leading down to Arambol's beach. The nearest ATM is in Arambol village near
the bus stop.
Getting There & Around
Buses to Mapusa (?27, 1½ hours) depart from Arambol village every half-hour. It's only
about 1.5km from the main beach area, but you're lucky if you get a cab, or even an
autorickshaw, for ?60. A prepaid taxi to Arambol from Dabolim Airport costs ?1000; from
Mapusa it's ?400.
