Eating & Drinking
Candolim's plentiful beach shacks are popular places to eat or relax with a beer.
Café Chocolatti
(409A Fort Aguada Rd; baked goods ?45-100, mains ?120-220; 9am-7pm Mon-Sat) Treat yourself at this
lovely tearoom, set in a green garden on the main road but light years from the bustle of
traffic or the beach. The cafe serves great coffee, sandwiches and salads, but the chocolate
cake and waffles are the stars.
CAFE, BAKERY $$
Stone House
(Fort Aguada Rd; mains ?150-500; 11am-3pm & 7pm-midnight) Surf 'n' turf's the thing at this vener-
able old Candolim venue, inhabiting a stone house and a leafy front courtyard. 'Swedish
Lobster' cooked in beer tops the list, followed by other beefy plates, seafood and Goan
dishes. It's run by the affable Chris and there's quality live music most nights of the week
in season.
STEAKHOUSE, BAR $$
Bob's Inn
(Fort Aguada Rd; mains ?80-300; 10.30am-4pm & 6.30pm-midnight) Great fish dishes, relaxed ambi-
ence and old dudes - foreigners and locals alike - chillaxing at the communal table. The
African wall hangings, thatch everywhere, and terracotta sculptures are a nice backdrop to
the rava (semolina wheat) fried mussels or 'drunken prawns'.
