Sleeping & Eating
Nagpur's overpriced hotels cater primarily to business travellers, not tourists. Stay in the
Central Ave area if you're on a budget, or have a train to catch in the wee hours. It's a
15-minute walk east of the train station. Otherwise, consider moving to Ramdaspeth,
closer to the city centre.
Hotel Blue Diamond
( 2727461;

; 113 Central Ave; s/d ?500/700, with AC ?1350/1500; )
The
mirrored ceiling in reception is straight out of a 1970s nightclub, and the rooms are pretty
much the type you'd expect above a 1970s nightclub. There's a dungeon-like bar on the
mezzanine floor. AC rooms have LCD TVs and crumpled linoleum flooring.

A trusted address that's been setting the standards of luxury in Nagpur for some
time now. Rooms are plush, with fluffy beds and high-speed internet access, and there's a
coffee shop and restaurant. It's located in the heart of the business and entertainment dis-
trict, and airport transfers are complimentary.

Pride Hotel
( 2291102;

; Wardha Rd, opposite airport; s/d from ?5262/5430; )
Located
close to the airport and away from the din of the city, this sleek business hotel is a good
stopover option for touch-and-go travellers. Royal Lancers, its lobby bar, and Puran Da
Dhaba, a dolled-up version of a traditional Punjabi eatery, are good places to settle in for
the evening.
