ously, and it works: the drinks, including several of his own invention, are fabulous, like
the whisky crusta (whisky, fresh tomato, mint leaves and sour mix). The food (mains ?295
to ?555) is also great, all in a sleek, contemporary, all-white space lit with candles.

It's not a sleek lounge filled with Bollywood stars. It's
just a cosy, friendly place with a traditional European look, not-too-loud classic rock (think
Nirvana, Dire Straits), good wine and drinks (some served in jars), and excellent food
(mains ?295 to ?425).

The views here - of the Gateway of India
and boats in the harbour - are spectacular, and the drinks are reasonably priced (for Mum-
bai; from ?350/750 for a beer/wine). Snuggle up in a booth beside one of the big picture
windows as the day's winding down on Apollo Bunder.
