Wudaokou) For the hordes of students in Wǔdàokǒu, both foreign and local, all roads lead to
Lush. During the day it functions as a cafe with a Western menu, including breakfast (¥30),
and sandwiches and salads (from ¥35). After dark, it offers something different every night,
whether movie screenings, live music, a pub quiz, DJs or an open-mic night for aspiring
poets and singers. There's a daily happy hour from 6pm to 10pm and it never closes. It's
above the Meet Fresh Café.

WǓDÀOKǑU BEER GARDEN
When Běijing emerges from the deep freeze of its winter, so do its residents. Come summer in Wǔdàokǒu, the
area just west of the subway stop turns into a hugely popular open-air beer garden ( OFFLINE MAP GOOGLE MAP )
. Locals congregate at the tables, supping draught beers and snacking on shāokǎo (barbecue) from the food stalls
surrounding them. The party starts in the late afternoon and continues late, getting louder and louder as those ¥10
beers disappear down thirsty throats.
