Note that the structure of the best of this generation (chromosome 6)
matches exactly the structure of the best of the previous generations (com-
pare Figures 9.12 and 9.13); they differ only on the numerical constant that
is used to split the data under HUMIDITY (90 on the decision tree of Figure
9.12 and 81 on the one in Figure 9.13). Note also that, despite showing some
variation on the neutral regions, these individuals managed to keep unchanged
all the elements that really matter for their expression.
Finally, in the next generation an individual with maximum fitness (chro-
mosome 9), classifying correctly all the 14 instances of Table 9.3, was cre-
ated. Its expression is shown in Figure 9.14. The complete population is
shown below (the perfect solution is shown in bold):
