It is worth pointing out that the structure of this best-of-generation solution is
totally unrelated to the best-of-generation of the previous populations (com-
pare Figures 5.9 and 5.10). Indeed, as we had predicted, the best of the initial
population had no potential to evolve into the perfect solution and, as ex-
pected, the best of generation 2 comes from a different lineage, this one with
real potential to evolve into the perfect solution.
In the next generation a new individual was created, chromosome 17, con-
siderably better than the best individual of the previous generation. Its ex-
pression is shown in Figure 5.11. The complete population is shown below
(the best of generation is shown in bold):
