10.5 Summary
Based on (Hornik and Zhong 2011; Zhong et al. 2002a, 2005a, 2005b, 2006), three different
topologies to provide a neutral line are discussed. These are a split DC link, a conventional
neutral leg and an independently-controlled neutral leg, which is the combination of the
former two. It allows the neutral leg to be controlled independently from the inverter phase
legs. Moreover, it allows the phase legs of the inverter to be controlled independently as well.
